TBR System Office Closed Monday, March 3, 2014          Governor Haslam has announced the following: Due to continuing hazardous weather conditions across Tennessee, state offices will be closed statewide the remainder of the day. Mission critical state employees will report to work as usual.For purposes of declaring an Emergency Administrative Closing, the System Office will follow any inclement weather closing schedule declared by the Governor for state government offices in Nashville. For each TBR System Office employee, this means that if it is announced that state government offices in Nashville are being closed due to inclement weather, then the TBR System Office will be closed for the same period under the provisions of our Emergency Administrative Closing policy.Please stay safe!  ------------------------------  posted earlier in the day: As a reminder inclement weather can create hazardous road and safety conditions. Your individual safety is our priority. Regardless of whether our offices are open or closed due to inclement weather, please use your best judgment in deciding if you can safely make it into work, and if you need to leave early to safely make it home. The Tennessee Board of Regents has a generous Annual Leave Policy that can be used for time missed in such conditions. If you do decide to take leave due to inclement weather, you must notify your supervisor. Should the Governor announce a closure you will be credited with the annual leave taken for the period of the closure.The Board’s Administrative Closing Policy includes a provision for Emergency Administrative Closings. This is the policy under which the office may be closed in the event of inclement weather. If an Emergency Administrative Closing is declared for the System Office, then regular full-time and part-time employees scheduled to work during the period of the Emergency Administrative Closing are granted time off with pay for those hours. For purposes of declaring an Emergency Administrative Closing, the System Office will follow any inclement weather closing schedule declared by the Governor for state government offices in Nashville. For each TBR System Office employee, this means that if it is announced that state government offices in Nashville are being closed due to inclement weather, then the TBR System Office will be closed for the same period under the provisions of our Emergency Administrative Closing policy. Absent such an announcement, you should assume our offices are open. If State Offices are already closed in observance of a holiday that is not observed by TBR and there is a question about possible closure, please check the TBR website, Facebook page, or recorded message, as indicated below.News about office closings or other emergency announcements will be posted on the TBR website at http://www.tbr.edu when possible – unless electrical or network outages prevent website updates.
