TN Board of Regents committee chairs & Audit Committee to meet March 8

The Tennessee Board of Regents’ committee chairs will meet Tuesday, March 8, 2022, to receive several updates and review the draft agenda of the full board’s next quarterly meeting March 31.

The board’s Audit Committee will also meet March 8, following the committee chairs meeting.

The Board of Regents governs Tennessee's public community colleges and colleges of applied technology.

Chairs of the board’s six standing committees will convene at 8:30 a.m. CT, March 8. The Audit Committee will convene immediately after the committee chairs adjourn, or about 10:30 a.m. The meetings will be held by videoconferencing and are open to the public (except for a portion of the Audit Committee required by state law to be confidential). The committee chairs meeting is informational, with no votes or action taken. The agenda includes updates on state budget proposals for the system; college presidential searches underway; proposed new policies on gift cards and the financial management of student organizations, and a proposed revision to the student organizations policy; external affairs; system compensation plans; learning supports for students, and plans for a comprehensive learner record.

The committee chairs will also review agendas for the full board meeting March 31and for the system’s Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) event scheduled for March 29-30.

The College System of Tennessee is the state’s largest public higher education system, with 13 community colleges, 24 colleges of applied technology and the online TN eCampus serving approximately 140,000 students. The system is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
