Board of Regents' Committee Chairs, Audit and Personnel & Compensation Committees to meet Nov. 15

The Tennessee Board of Regents’ committee chairs will meet Nov. 15, 2022, to receive informational reports and preview items on the draft agenda for the full board’s next quarterly meeting on Dec. 1. The board’s Personnel and Compensation Committee and Audit Committee will conduct business meetings following the committee chairs.

Chairs of the board’s standing committees will convene at 8:30 a.m. CT, Tuesday, Nov. 15. The board’s Personnel and Compensation Committee and the Audit Committee will follow, consecutively, after the committee chairs adjourn.

The three meetings will be held by teleconferencing and will be live-streamed and archived on the TBR website at https://www.tbr.edu/board/november-15-2022-committee-chairs-personnel-compensation-and-audit-committee-meetings, except for a portion of the Audit Committee required by state law to be confidential. The committee chairs meeting is informational, with no votes or official action. The next quarterly meeting of the Board of Regents is scheduled for Dec. 1, 2022, at the TBR system office in Nashville.  The Personnel and Compensation and Audit committee meetings will conduct regular committee business, with votes on some items that will go to the full board’s Dec. 1 meeting for its consideration.

The committee chairs agenda includes a review of proposed revisions to two TBR policies that the full board will consider at its Dec. 1 meeting – the Purchasing Policy and the Undergraduate Academic Retention and GPA Standards Policy – and informational updates and reports on external affairs, workforce development and fiscal year 2022 fundraising. The committee chairs will also review the proposed new Chattanooga State Community College Strategic Plan and a draft of the December board meeting agenda.

The Personnel and Compensation Committee will consider proposals to grant faculty emeritus status to two retired faculty members – one each at Dyersburg State and Southwest Tennessee community colleges – and consider institutional compensation plans for five community colleges.

The Audit Committee agenda includes reports and updates on Fiscal Year 2022-23 first quarter audit highlights, systemwide internal audits, annual audits and expenses for the chancellor and presidents, Fiscal Year 2022-23 revised internal audit plans, and salaries, staffing and budgets for the TBR Office of System-wide Internal Audit.
