Board of Regents’ Committee Chairs and Audit Committee to meet Aug. 29
The Tennessee Board of Regents’ committee chairs will meet Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, to receive informational reports and preview items on the draft agenda for the full board’s next quarterly meeting Sept. 21-22. The board’s Audit Committee will meet immediately after the committee chairs adjourn to review various audit matters.

Chairs of the board’s standing committees will convene at 8:30 a.m. CT, Aug. 29. The Audit Committee will convene immediately after the committee chairs adjourn. The meetings will be held by teleconferencing and will be live-streamed and archived on the TBR website at https://www.tbr.edu/board/august-2023-committee-chairs-and-audit-committee-meetings, except for a portion of the Audit Committee required by state law to be confidential. The committee chairs meeting is informational, with no votes or official action. The next quarterly meeting of the Board of Regents is scheduled for Sept. 21-22 at Motlow State Community College in Moore County.
The committee chairs agenda includes an update on state legislative priorities, an overview of personnel and compensation matters that will be considered at the full board meeting, previews of TBR policy proposals and a proposed new Associate of Applied Science in Distilled Spirits program that will also be considered at the board meeting, a presentation on the potential administrative merger of the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology Crossville and Livingston, and a preview of the draft September board meeting agenda.
The Audit Committee agenda, which is also fully detailed in the meeting link above, includes informational reporting on audit reports and recommendations, review of internal audit year-end status reports for fiscal year 2023, review of internal audit plans for fiscal year 2024, results of external quality assurance reviews, review of proposed revisions to the TBR Internal Audit Policy, review of audit committee charters, responsibilities and standards, and consideration of a proposed conflict of interest management plan.

The College System of Tennessee is the state’s largest public higher education system, with 13 community colleges, 24 colleges of applied technology and the online TN eCampus serving approximately 140,000 students. The system is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
