Tennessee Board of Regents earns Top Workplace honor for the second year in a row
The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) has been recognized as a 2024 Top Workplace by the Tennessean – an honor that acknowledges companies ranked by their employees as the best places to work in the state of Tennessee. TBR earned a 5th place ranking in the midsize category among 28 other businesses and organizations.
“Being acknowledged as a 2024 Top Workplace by the Tennessean fills us with immense pride” stated TBR Chancellor Flora W. Tydings. “This accolade signifies the commitment and effort of our dedicated staff members toward a work culture that is positive and engaging.”
What sets the Top Workplaces recognition apart from other workplace awards is that it is wholly based on employee feedback through a third-party survey from Energage LLC.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. The evaluation assesses how the organization meets their employees’ needs in 15 different work culture drivers such as company alignment, execution, and connection. This achievement is not only a reflection of TBR’s continuous effort to create a positive work culture but also a significant testimonial to the concerted efforts of its employees.
In addition to the 5th place ranking, TBR competed for the coveted Spirit Award at the awards dinner. Nine TBR representatives donned their graduation caps and gowns to represent the theme of what they do, which earned them the spirit stick and bragging rights for the next year.
TBR, the governing body for Tennessee’s 13 community colleges and 24 colleges of applied technology, consists of over 200 employees that are vital to the success of The College System of Tennessee. Its employees are committed to student success and assisting college faculty, administrators, support staff and students across the state.
The Top Workplace recognition not only shows that TBR values its employees and is committed to fulfilling their needs, but also values the collaborative work between its colleges, communities, and workforce partners.
The College System of Tennessee is the state’s largest public higher education system, with 13 community colleges, 24 colleges of applied technology and the online TN eCampus serving approximately 140,000 students. The system is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
