TBR Plans Quarterly Meeting March 27 in Cookeville; Participates in TTU 100th Charter Day Celebration
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 20, 2015) — The Tennessee Board of Regents will meet in regular quarterly session on Friday, March 27, on the campus of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville following a program honoring the 100th anniversary of TTU’s charter date.
The TTU Charter Day Celebration is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. CDT in the Derryberry Hall Auditorium. After a break for lunch, the Board will convene in the Bryan Fine Arts Building Wattenbarger Auditorium at 1 p.m.
Following a presentation honoring the service and dedication of Richard Rhoda, former Board member and executive director of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission who retired last year, members will hear reports from Chancellor John Morgan, presidents and directors, and approve minutes of the Audit Committee and Finance and Business Operations Committee. Informational reporting includes an overview of budget recommendations, legislative issues and academic affairs initiatives.
The Board will also consider policy revisions related to internal audit; preventing and reporting fraud, waste or abuse; approval of academic programs, units and modifications; identity theft prevention; optional retirement programs; retirement; motor vehicles; and student housing.
Action items for the Board’s consideration also include:
- Approval of recommendation to name Stephen Milligan as the new director at TCAT-Crump;
- Proposed TCAT program terminations, modifications, and new technical program implementations;
- Approval of new university degree programs;
- Approval of a committee recommendation on mandatory and incidental fee requests and disclosure amendment to the 2016 capital budget request; and
- Consideration of a request to name the Faculty Office Building at Nashville State Community College.
