Presidents Shake Hands

Roane State Community College has signed a partnership with Lindsey Wilson College to allow students to seamlessly transfer their college credits toward degrees at the Kentucky institution.

“It means so much for students who want and need to continue their education to be able to transfer their credits,” Roane State President Chris Whaley said during a recent ceremony.

“We look forward to a strong relationship,” Lindsey Wilson College President William Luckey said.

Lindsey Wilson is a United Methodist four-year non-profit college located in Columbia, Ky. Degree programs are offered on levels ranging from associate’s to bachelor’s to doctoral.

The college has alliances with 17 higher education institutions in five states: Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Qualified community college students can transfer up to 60 credit hours from Roane State to LWC. The application process is free, classes begin every eight weeks and there is no out-of-state tuition increase. LWC will also offer scholarship opportunities to current part-time and full-time employees of Roane State.

LWC offers bachelor’s degrees available 100 percent online in business, criminal justice, human services, and nursing. More than 5,000 LWC degrees have been awarded through Lindsey Wilson’s community college partnership program.

Lindsey Wilson College was founded in 1903 and provides seven degree-granting divisions, offering more than 30 undergraduate and three graduate-level accredited programs in the liberal arts, as well as select pre-professional studies in medicine, law, engineering, pharmacy and dentistry, among others.
