Finance & Business Operations Committee to meet May 22 to continue discussion of student tuition & mandatory fees for 2019-20

The Tennessee Board of Regents Committee on Finance and Business Operations will meet Wednesday, May 22, to continue its review and discussion of student tuition and mandatory fees for the 2019-20 academic year. The committee will meet again June 4 to consider and vote on its tuition and fee recommendations to the full board.

The May 22 meeting is set for 9:30 a.m. CT, by telephone conference call. The meeting is open to the public. Anyone wanting to listen may contact Board Secretary Sonja Mason at sonja.mason@tbr.edu or 615-366-3927 by 4:30 pm Tuesday, May 21, for call-in information.

The committee’s recommendations will be considered by the full Board of Regents at its June 21 quarterly meeting at Volunteer State Community College, when the board will set tuition and mandatory fees for the next academic year at Tennessee’s 13 community colleges and 27 colleges of applied technology.

Increases in tuition and mandatory fees at Tennessee’s public colleges and universities must fall within a binding range set by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. The commission met today to consider approving its staff recommendation for a range of 0 to 2.5 percent in combined tuition and mandatory fee increases.
