Tennessee Board of Regents Committee Chairs & Audit Committee to meet Nov. 17
The Tennessee Board of Regents’ committee chairs and the Audit Committee will meet Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, to receive updates and review a number of items in advance of the full board’s next quarterly meeting in December.
The chairs of the board’s six standing committees will convene at 8:30 am CT, Nov. 17, followed immediately by the Audit Committee. The meetings will occur by videoconferencing and are open to the public (except for a portion of the Audit Committee required by state law to be confidential). The committee chairs meeting is informational, with no votes or action taken. The agenda includes a report on the system’s We All Rise Biennial Conference on Equity and Completion held last month, a budget and financial update, an update on the state’s new online sports gambling act and governance matters, an overview of the competency-based education initiative, an update on the strategic enrollment management initiative, an update on legislative priorities for 2021, and a review of the draft agenda for the Dec. 10 quarterly board meeting.
The College System of Tennessee is the state’s largest public higher education system, with 13 community colleges, 24 colleges of applied technology and the online TN eCampus serving approximately 140,000 students. The system is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
