Chattanooga State Community College

“We now have over 30 degree programs completely available online,” announced Chattanooga State President Dr. Rebecca Ashford. Chattanooga State’s new initiative, ChattState Online, is designed to provide busy adults with the opportunity to fit a high-quality college education into their lives. “Flexibility” was the key word used by administrators and current online students when ChattState Online was announced.

The first cohort of SETWorks (Southeast Tennessee Works) recently completed their in-class training, celebrating with a completion ceremony at Chattanooga State Community College. A total of 13 individuals celebrated their completion of the first half of this innovative work-based learning program that was funded by the Benwood Foundation.

Chattanooga State Community College recently hosted its first annual Girl Scouts STEM Day for middle and high school girls on the main campus. Thirty-eight Girl Scouts participated in eight, two-hour workshops. This free event provided opportunities for scouts to learn about CAD, robotics, nuclear science, website design, chemical engineering technology, coding, 3D printing, and computer technicians. 

A contingent of 15 students descended upon the state capitol to participate in the 47th Annual Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL) forum.

Chattanooga State Community College has been designated a VETS Campus by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) in recognition of the school’s support of veteran students.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Chattanooga State Community College will announce a new higher education partnership funded jointly by the Chattanooga Area Chamber and the Small Business Administration (SBA)
