Several Middle Tennessee high school students graduate with Associate degrees from Motlow State Community College each year. This year, 29 LaVergne High School graduates completed their degrees from Motlow prior to graduating from high school. Some are headed to the military and several are heading on to universities, in and out of state, to pursue bachelor’s degrees.

Motlow State Community College and Mechatronics Professor Khalid Tantawi have been awarded a $545,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for a 36-month project to introduce the concepts and technologies of Smart Manufacturing to the educators of advanced manufacturing in the United States.
The project, titled “Smart Manufacturing for America’s Revolutionizing Technological Transformation” will feature Motlow as a national hub for training Smart Manufacturing for Mechatronics and Advanced Manufacturing educators across the nation.

Motlow State Community College sophomore JuliAnna Dykes of Tullahoma is named the National Collegiate Honors Council's "Student of the Year." Every year, NCHC honors one student from a four-year and one from a two-year institution. Dykes is the third Motlow honors student in as many years to receive the NCHC "Student of the Year" award.
