Jackson State Community College

As a first-generation college student at Jackson State Community College, Kelan Jones didn’t have a clear understanding of how to be successful in college. A standout basketball player in high school, Jones saw the sport as his ticket to success. 

When Raven Ferrell logged onto her first virtual college course at Jackson State Community College last August, she achieved a major goal in her life.

"I've always had dreams and goals in my life," said the 28-year-old mother. "I always wanted to go to college."
