Y-12 machinists complete classroom portion of apprenticeship program at Pellissippi State
Ten employees of Y-12 National Security Complex have completed three years of classroom training at Pellissippi State Community College as part of the second class of an apprenticeship program that grows talent from within Y-12.

Rad Tech Students Win Knowledge Bowl
Students at Volunteer State Community College took first place in a competition of Radiologic Technology knowledge recently. It was part of the annual meeting of the Tennessee Society of Radiologic Technologists. They’re the professionals who perform x-rays and other radiographic imaging of patients in hospitals and clinics. Teams of four students from across Tennessee competed in a single elimination student bowl. There were a total of ten teams participating.

Roane State’s Keeling earns national recognition
Roane State’s Amy Keeling has won a national award from an 11,000-member academic advising organization for doing what she loves: helping students chart their paths.

Motlow's JuliAnna Dykes earns National Honors Student of the Year award
Motlow State Community College sophomore JuliAnna Dykes of Tullahoma is named the National Collegiate Honors Council's "Student of the Year." Every year, NCHC honors one student from a four-year and one from a two-year institution. Dykes is the third Motlow honors student in as many years to receive the NCHC "Student of the Year" award.

MTSU professors to study Mexican War remains returned to U.S
With dignified precision befitting the honors due to fallen American soldiers, as many as 13 skeletal remains unearthed from what was a Mexican War battlefield were welcomed home Wednesday, Sept. 28, after 170 years.
