The Tennessee Board of Regents will hold its next regular quarterly meeting Sept. 18-19, 2025, at the new Knox Regional Health Science Education Center in Knoxville. Agenda highlights include consideration of a new systemwide strategic plan for 2025-35, proposed policy revisions, legislative and budget requests, and a report on student access, enrollment and success trends.
The board governs the College System of Tennessee – the state’s public community colleges and colleges of applied technology.

The Tennessee Board of Regents has launched the process of revisiting and potentially revising its Strategic Plan for the statewide system of public community and technical colleges.
The Strategic Plan Steering Committee held its first session Jan. 31, led by Dr. Russ Deaton, executive vice chancellor for policy and strategy. Board Vice Chair Emily J. Reynolds and Chancellor Flora W. Tydings addressed the committee, underscoring the importance of the work and thanking members for their time.

Four Tennessee community colleges are in the process of implementing self-designed pilot plans for Reimagining the Community College Experience – a Tennessee Board of Regents initiative to improve student success through more extensive career exploration, career advising and a workforce-focused certificate in a student’s first semester.
