TBR Schedules Ad Hoc Committee on Capital Outlay and Capital Maintenance Meeting Nov. 29

The Tennessee Board of Regents Ad Hoc Committee on Capital Outlay and Capital Maintenance will hold its next meeting via telephone at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29.

The agenda includes a review of the project priority list as well as other business.

TBR Chancellor Recommends Glenda Baskin Glover as TSU’s Next President; Board to Meet Nov. 27

Glenda Baskin Glover is expected to be named the next president to lead Tennessee State University pending approval by the Tennessee Board of Regents on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

The Board will meet via telephone at 1:30 p.m. CST Nov. 27 to consider TBR Chancellor John Morgan’s recommendation for Glover to replace Portia Shields, who led the campus as interim president for the past two years. Glover currently serves as dean of the College of Business at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi.

TBR Schedules Audit, Committee Chairs Meetings Nov. 20

The Tennessee Board of Regents Audit Committee and Committee Chairs meetings are scheduled at the TBR office in Nashville on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

The Audit Committee meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. CST. The agenda includes:

I. Consent agenda

a. Review of internal audit charters

b. Review of internal audit plans for fiscal year 2013

II. Informational reporting

a. Review of Comptroller’s Office audit reports

b. Review of internal audit reports

c. Review of annual expenses for the chancellor and presidents

4 Finalists Selected in Search for TSU President

The search advisory committee for a new president of Tennessee State University narrowed the candidate pool to four finalists today.

They are: • Ainsley Carry, vice president for Student Affairs at Auburn University;• Glenda Glover, dean of the College of Business at Jackson State University;• Bennie Harris, vice president for Development and Alumni Relations at Lipscomb University; and• Candace Campbell Jackson, vice president and chief of staff at The University of Akron.

TBR Approves Chris Whaley as Roane State President; Tony Creecy as TTC-Pulaski Director

The Tennessee Board of Regents unanimously approved Chris Whaley as the next president for Roane State Community College and Tony Creecy as the new director at the Tennessee Technology Center in Pulaski.

Whaley will assume his leadership role at the college beginning Nov. 1. Creecy has already been serving as interim director at the TTC and will continue in the permanent position as of Oct. 1.

TBR Chancellor Recommends Chris Whaley as Roane State’s Next President; Board to Vote Oct. 1

Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor John Morgan will recommend to the Board that Chris Whaley be appointed the next president to lead Roane State Community College.

Whaley, who currently serves as vice president of student learning and chief academic officer at Roane State, was selected after a nationwide search.

Morgan will ask the Board to vote on his recommendation of Whaley during a special telephonic meeting at 3 p.m. CDT Monday, Oct. 1.

TBR to Meet in Regular Quarterly Session Sept. 20-21 at Cleveland State Community College

The Tennessee Board of Regents will meet in regular quarterly session at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tenn., on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 20 and 21.

Committee meetings will begin at 1 p.m. EDT Sept. 20 in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage Center. Committees will meet in this order: Tennessee Technology Centers, Academic Policies and Programs, Personnel and Compensation, and Finance and Business Operations. The full Board of Regents meeting will begin Friday, Sept. 21, at 9:30 a.m. in the Heritage Center’s Theater.
