Registered apprenticeships for career training are growing rapidly in Tennessee, according to a new report by the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury, which also highlights the important roles the state’s community and technical colleges play in the apprenticeship process.

More than 250 leaders from business and industry and Tennessee’s public community and technical colleges gathered at Volunteer State Community College to strengthen communication and collaboration and enhance the development of career and technical education programs.

Driven by a growing number of apprenticeship programs, Tennessee’s public community and technical colleges delivered 1.628 million hours of direct workforce training in 2022-23, the Tennessee Board of Regents Center for Workforce Development announced today. TBR colleges trained 50,589 students and served 880 companies through their broad range of workforce programs.
