SkillsUSA has selected the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology at Harriman and Pulaski as two of its 24 national Models of Excellence for 2023, the highest honor bestowed on SkillsUSA chapters.
SkillsUSA is one of the nation’s largest student organizations for career and technical education. Its Models of Excellence program annually recognizes the exceptional integration of personal, workplace and technical skills into SkillsUSA chapter activities.

Career and technical education students from across Tennessee demonstrated excellence and brought home medals and honors at the 2021 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference last week.
The annual SkillsUSA conference and its national championship competitions showcased the nation’s best career and technical education (CTE) students, who competed in 106different trade, technical and leadership events. The 2021 SkillsUSA Championships were held virtually due to pandemic-related travel restrictions.

Tennessee SkillsUSA today announced its college Chapters of Excellence for 2020 at nine Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology and the Advisor of the Year.
The five Gold Award Chapters of Excellence winners are the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology at Pulaski, Paris, Chattanooga, Memphis and Knoxville (ranked by order of their scores in the competition).
The four Silver Award Chapters of Excellence are TCATs Hohenwald, Dickson, Harriman and Hartsville.

A total of 41 students from 11 College System of Tennessee campuses won medals at the 2018 SkillsUSA National Championship, demonstrating their knowledge and expertise across an array of career and technical skills.
Gold medal winners from the 2018 Tennessee postsecondary SkillsUSA competition, held in March in Chattanooga, traveled with their advisors to Louisville, Ky., last month for the national competition. The SkillsUSA National Championship is an annual event showcasing the best career and technical education students in the nation.

Carrington Fox, a Nashville journalist and mother of three who returned to college to pursue her lifelong dream of building, was named the College System of Tennessee’s Outstanding Technical Student of the Year today.
