Students, faculty and staff at Tennessee’s public community and technical colleges collected and donated the equivalent of 128,039 food items during the College System of Tennessee’s 25th Annual Food Drive Challenge, which wrapped up last week. The food and cash donations collected during the six-week challenge go to campus food pantries for students and to local organizations, programs and food banks serving their communities.

Two more Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology – TCATs Crossville and McMinnville – have earned VETS Campus certification by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, certifying their commitment to programs and services to help veterans succeed as they pursue their education.

Seven Tennessee community and technical colleges are receiving grants totaling just over $5.7 million to boost career and technical education programs, through the federal Perkins Grant program.
