During its quarterly meeting today, the Tennessee Board of Regents appointed Susan L. Hatto as the next president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Athens and Patrick Wade as the next president of TCAT Murfreesboro.
Chancellor Flora W. Tydings recommended both candidates to the board after reviewing input from the two college communities following campus forums last month, and then further interviewing the finalists. Both were among separate sets of finalists selected by search committees at their respective colleges.

Three finalists have been selected for the next president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro, and a public forum with the candidates is set for Nov. 10 at the main campus in Murfreesboro.

Seven Tennessee community and technical colleges are receiving grants totaling just over $5.7 million to boost career and technical education programs, through the federal Perkins Grant program.

The Tennessee Board of Regents today appointed Dr. Carol Puryear as president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro, where she has served as interim president since May 2019.
She previously led the college as its director from 2007 to 2012, when she left to join the Tennessee Board of Regents system staff, first as associate vice chancellor of instruction and special projects for all 27 Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology and, since 2017, as vice chancellor of economic and community development.

The Tennessee Board of Regents will convene its regular quarterly meeting June 18-19, with an agenda that includes consideration of tuition, fees and budgets for the 2020-21 academic year.
The Board of Regents governs Tennessee’s 13 community colleges and 27 colleges of applied technology.

The Tennessee Board of Regents today appointed Dr. Jon D. Mandrell as president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro, effective July 1.
Mandrell is currently vice president of academics and student services at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Ill., where he has worked in teaching and administrative roles since 2008.

The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Room 213 of TCAT Murfreesboro’s Smyrna Campus, 663 Ken Pilkerton Drive, Smyrna. The meeting will include a period for public comment, to allow members of the public and college community to express views about the search and characteristics and skills the next president should have.
