Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor Flora W. Tydings will recommend Susanne Cox to the board for appointment as the next president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Morristown. The board will consider the appointment at its next quarterly meeting March 31.
Cox has been vice president of TCAT Morristown since 2014 and was one of the finalists selected for the presidency by an 18-member search advisory committee announced on March 2. The finalists participated in on-campus interviews with the campus community and public on March 14.

Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) announced a collaborative effort to train, upskill, and certify 5,000 Tennesseans in cloud computing by 2025. Through this statewide initiative, technical training and education mapped to in-demand skills will be available from participating public community and technical colleges across Tennessee.

The Tennessee Board of Regents’ committee chairs will meet Tuesday, March 8, 2022, to receive several updates and review the draft agenda of the full board’s next quarterly meeting March 31.
The board’s Audit Committee will also meet March 8, following the committee chairs meeting.

The Tennessee Board of Regents today appointed Nathan Garrett president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Nashville, effective Jan. 5. He is currently TBR assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs and workforce alignment, and was interim president of TCAT McMinnville from July 2020 through September 2021.
Garrett succeeds the late Mark Lenz, TCAT Nashville’s president for 12 years who passed away Sept. 8.

Students, faculty and staff at Tennessee’s public community and technical colleges collected 132,701 food items, including cash donations, for food pantries on their campuses, and food banks and other organizations in their communities, during the College System of Tennessee’s 23nd Annual Food Drive Challenge.
