Three finalists have been selected for the next president of Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Shelbyville, and all three will participate in public interviews on the campus Sept. 27, the next step in the selection process.

The Tennessee Board of Regents’ committee chairs will meet Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, to receive informational reports and preview items on the draft agenda for the full board’s next quarterly meeting Sept. 21-22. The board’s Audit Committee will meet immediately after the committee chairs adjourn to review various audit matters.

The Tennessee Board of Regents today (Aug. 15, 2023) appointed Dr. Carol A. Rothstein as the seventh president of Jackson State Community College, effective Oct. 1.

During its quarterly meeting Friday, the Tennessee Board of Regents approved operating budgets and tuition rates for the upcoming academic year, capital budget requests for 2024-25, and appointed Heath McMillian as president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Jackson.
McMillian came to TCAT Jackson in May 2022 as executive vice president to lead development of the BlueOval City Campus, and has been serving as interim president since October when former president Jeff Sisk was appointed executive director of the systemwide TBR Center for Workforce Development.

The Tennessee Board of Regents will hold its regular quarterly meeting next week at Chattanooga State Community College, with committee meetings on Thursday, June 15, 2023, and the full board on Friday, June 16.

The Center for First-generation Student Success announced that Tennessee’s 13 community colleges are among the 76 new member institutions of the First Scholars Network for 2023-24 – colleges and universities chosen based upon their demonstrated commitment to improving experiences and advancing success for first-generation college students.

A public forum and interview for the finalist for the next president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Jackson, Heath R. McMillian, is scheduled for May 22.
McMillian, TCAT Jackson’s current executive vice president and interim president, was named finalist for the TCAT Jackson presidency by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) April 27.
